Synopsis
In need of a raise, Gwen Little reluctantly accepts an invitation to a party at her cosmetic magnate boss Kathleen’s secluded estate. Out of place among affluence, arrogance, and a shared dislike for her boss, Gwen senses something’s amiss. When Kathleen reveals to her guests that they’ll all be undergoing a new cosmetics procedure, Gwen’s deep seeded body-issues resurface, and her boss’s sinister intentions come to light.
Story Outline
Gwen Little is a video producer for Happy Skin, a cosmetics company that specializes in questionable, fast-acting beauty products. Beneath Gwen’s hard working exterior is the anxiety inherent in living paycheck-to-paycheck, as well a past that has her hiding scars from a tragic
accident.
When Kathleen Morgan, the always smiling
figurehead of Happy Skin, invites Gwen to a
gathering at her secluded mansion, Gwen jumps at the chance, hoping to cozy up to her boss and secure a better position at the company.
Upon arriving at the mansion, Gwen is greeted warmly by Kathleen, who sees herself in Gwen and imagines her as a protege. The rest
of the high society guests, however, treat Gwen with an affluent arrogance that she’s unaccustomed to. As she navigates the party,
Gwen soon realizes that everyone in attendance has an ulterior motive for being there.
After a lavish feast in the dining room, Katherine reveals the true nature of the party to her guests. A new botox serum has been
developed by Happy Skin, and the party-goers get the privilege of being the first to try it. Reluctant at first, the guests fall in line after
they realize the chance this provides to cozy up to Kathleen. Before anyone is injected with the ominous green liquid, a few simple rules for a successful procedure are made clear to everyone. After the injections, everyone is left to their own devices.
